Storyboard of my Trailer

after feedback from my target audience I changed the stortyboard of my trailer, this is because my target audience didn't think it suited my genre. After speaking to my target audience they said this storyboard is much better as they feel that it follows her story more allowing them to connect to the trailer more emotionally, which is the point of social realism as a genre.

Social Realism Target Audience

From doing research into some social realism films, I can see that the majority age rating is 15. This means that when I think about creating my trailer and accompanying text that it should appeal to people ages 15 and above. If I was to create the actual film I would have to look into how BBFC classify the different films and ensure mine met the 15 criteria. However as I am only creating the trailer I need to make sure it is appropriate for all audiences to view so this means including little or no scenes with drugs in it and also ensuring the language is clean.

Adulthood is aged 15

Fishtank is certified 15

Ill Manors is certified 18

Soundtrack ideas to use in trailer

In order to use music i have recognised that there is laws against using other peoples audio tracks. To overcome this issue I would contact the music producer. Just because this is an educational trailer that won't actually be getting published I will not be asking for permission. But this post is to indicate that there are laws I would have to follow.

Story Board first draft

Key Scene Script 3

10. Stacy sitting in a class room debating whether to take the drugs or not

In this scene there will no dialogue, instead the focus will be more on time lapsing this scene to make it seem as if its over a long period of time. In this scene we will see Stacy pacing around a table several times, looking in this one drawer and picking up the cocaine. There will also be non diegetic sound in this scene in the form of a soundtrack.

Key Scenes Script 2

1.Stacy collecting her A Level Results, this is the point in which Stacy starts to have faith in herself and her ability to do well in life.

In this scene I plan to use a non diegetic music in the form of a soundtrack. This means it will not be heard by any of the characters. There will also be a voice over in this scene. In terms of the camera movement it will be a simple there will a pan over the letter in slow motion. the only form of dialogue in this scene will be the voice over of Stacy.

Stacy: Two years of hell and this is it... Am I going to uni?
NO WAY! I HAVE DONE IT! A A A! Worcester here I come.

Person 2: Forget that, what is everyone drinking?

Person 1: I’m not drinking. I am going to do coke.

Person 3: I thought that you said it was a one off!

Person 1: For God Sake, Not again! You said never again after last time

Person 2: Haha why can you even afford it?

Person 3: Yeah I can, what are you trying to say about me?! I’ve got a free next and I’m picking up in the car park across the road from school so I cant go back on my word now.

Reading into Social Realism

When exploring the genre of social realism I went and done doe research into seeing what films are popular etc... below are the 2 sites that I used. Whilst doing my research I noticed a film called Weekend (2010) that I liked the synopsis of. So I watched it and wrote  trailer analysis on that film.
